The Man Who Read the East Wind is a book by Richard Hughes, published by Norman Macswan Kangaroo Press in 1982. It is a biography of the Australian journalist and spy Ian Morrison, who worked as a correspondent for The Times in Asia during the 1940s and 1950s. The book recounts Morrisons adventurous and dangerous life, covering his involvement in the Chinese Civil War, the Korean War, the Malayan Emergency, and the Indonesian Revolution.
